On a Budget, IKEA Kitchens are great for that!!

Last summer we did a budget friendly renovation to a small war bungalow in Toronto. If you do not know the layout, it comes with a very small closed in kitchen with a dining room and living room on the other side of the wall. Very dark and cramped feeling usually comes to mind when you walk into one. However, we opened up the floor plan by knocking down walls and created a stunning user friendly kitchen area for the family to enjoy an new open concept lifestyle! Thanks IKEA for all your support on this project your cabinets and appliances are a show stopper!! Let alone the price for this kitchen was the best part!!

We unitized every inch we could for extra counter space and storage!

EWWW the before:

So sometimes you don't have to think outside of the box, ready made cabinets could be just the answer for your budget and project!!

Until next time,

  2. Wow! It doesn't even look like the same room. The new kitchen is so much brighter and open feeling. It amazing what some basic improvements can do. And IKEA is great for affordable and easy to install pieces.

  4. That's really amazing and artistic and must say you have completely changed the look of the kitchen from before and IKEA's furniture even though is reasonably prices isn't it hard to determine the durability of the furniture ?

  5. Hi Natalie, you would be surprised how durable their kitchens are, completely different from the orginal sterotypes of IKEA furniture back in the day, they have come along way. The hardware is produced from BLUM, which a very reputable company in the industry, know for being high end. You can also choose from real wood doors too now for even more durablity, so make sure to take a peak at their product line next time you are near a store.

    Thanks for all the comments!!

  6. Nice interior. You did a great job! I think it would be better to do renovation with reclaimed wood furniture . It would be cheaper than antique furniture but looks very expensive.

  8. Hi! I could have sworn I’ve visited your website before but after looking at a few of the articles I realized it’s new to me. Nonetheless, I’m certainly happy I stumbled upon it and I’ll be book-marking it and checking back often!
